The Devil Tracker Adventure is a guided four-wheel drive tour in native forest near the Unzoo to see first-hand how the healthy Tasmanian devils of the isolated Tasman Peninsula are being tracked and monitored with special hi-tech infrared night cameras. Your guide will lead you to a hidden camera site in the forest then to our Devil Tracker Station to identify and monitor vital devil activity and health data by downloading the latest images from our cameras and keeping a nightly record of devil activity.
It’s a great way to learn about the and Tasmanian Devil Unzoo’s role in the fight to preserve and protect the endangered Tasmanian devil species. You’ll also discover the intimate habitat relationship between natural bush and farmland, how to identify wildlife highways and discover traces of nocturnal wildlife activity.
The Devil Tracker Adventure caters for up to eight guests and includes a visit to the Unzoo and afternoon coffee / tea. Allow three hours. Please note this is not suitable for children under 8 years or people with limited mobility/wheelchairs. We recommend wearing enclosed sturdy footwear as it envolves a short hike through the bush on uneven terrain.
